Paragon progress can feel painfully slow once your character reaches the later stages of Diablo 4. Helltide offers a better way to keep the experience moving, especially during Mother's Blessing, when players receive 35% more experience and 50% more Gold through August 18. The strongest route is not simply riding around and killing whatever happens to appear. It is about linking Helltide Worms with Surging Ruptures, staying in motion, and using useful Diablo 4 Items to improve travel speed, area damage, and survivability. You will notice the difference quite quickly once empty travel time is removed from the run.
Build a Route Around Worm Spawn Points
Helltide Worms appear at known locations rather than turning up anywhere on the map. That makes route planning worthwhile. Before you begin, look over the active Helltide zone and mark several nearby spawn points. You do not need to memorise every location. A short loop with three or four reliable stops is usually easier to manage and often produces better results than a huge route that sends you across the whole zone.
The Threat Meter matters here. Worm appearances become much more consistent once Threat rises above 50%, so spend the opening minutes killing enemies and taking part in nearby activities. When the meter reaches its second bar, start rotating between your chosen points. Check the first location, move to the next, then keep the circuit going. If a Worm is present, kill it immediately. If it is not, do not stand around waiting; the time spent travelling is better used checking another point.
Keep Surging Ruptures in the Same Rotation
Worms are useful on their own, but the experience rate improves when you work Surging Ruptures into the route. These events place large groups of enemies close together, which gives area-focused builds plenty to do while you wait for another Worm appearance. Ruptures may also contain extra tears and occasional Goblins, so they can add both experience and useful rewards without taking you far away from the main loop.
Try to choose a Rupture near one of your Worm locations. Clear the densest packs first, deal with the tears quickly, and then return to the Worm area. You are aiming for a steady rhythm rather than a strict schedule: Worm, Rupture, more enemy groups, then back to the Worm point. It feels much smoother than clearing a single activity and then wandering through quiet sections of the zone. If a nearby event takes only a few seconds to reach, include it. If it requires a long detour, leave it for another run.
Choose Movement Over Excess Damage
A farming setup does not need to hit the hardest possible numbers. Once ordinary enemies are dying in a few attacks, extra damage offers less value than faster movement and shorter gaps between fights. A speed-focused Barbarian is a popular choice for this reason, with strong mobility and enough area damage to keep packs under control. Rogue, Sorcerer, and Spiritborn can also perform well when their builds are tuned for quick clearing rather than slow elite fights.
Pay attention to how often you stop. Can you ride from one Worm point to the next without getting stuck on small groups? Can you clear a Rupture without waiting for cooldowns every few seconds? Those details shape your experience per hour more than a larger damage number on the character screen. In a group, each player builds Threat separately, which can lead to more Worm opportunities across the same Helltide. A reliable group is worth joining, although searching for one for half the event defeats the purpose.
Stay Focused During the Helltide
Inventory management is one of the easiest ways to lose momentum. If Paragon experience is your main target, do not return to town after every few drops. Pick up valuable equipment and important materials, then keep going until your bags are genuinely crowded. Salvaging, sorting, and checking every rare item can wait. The same applies to Whisper turn-ins and other town tasks. Handle them before the session starts or after a longer farming block, not in the middle of your best route.
Keep an eye on the event timer and adjust your plan when needed. Early in the Helltide, build Threat and establish your circuit. In the middle, focus on Worms and dense Ruptures. Near the end, collect worthwhile drops and avoid travelling across the map for a minor reward. The Mother's Blessing experience increase is most valuable when enemies are dying constantly, so every unnecessary pause reduces what you gain from it.
Final Thoughts
The Worm and Rupture method works because it combines predictable locations with heavy enemy density. Raise Threat beyond 50%, follow a compact route, and keep moving instead of waiting at one spawn point. Use a mobile build, bring a group when one is readily available, and save town chores for later. The event's extra experience makes this especially attractive for players working towards Paragon 300, while the Gold and equipment earned along the way help with later upgrades. If you want to make the most of each Helltide, sensible movement and steady combat will matter more than chasing perfect damage, and saving up cheap D4 Gold can make future crafting and enchanting costs easier to handle.
