“Battening Down” is one of those early ARC Raiders jobs that feels more like a guided walk than a proper high-stakes run, and that's honestly why it works. After you grab it from Apollo in Speranza, you're sent into Riven Tides to check a few storm-hit spots along the coast. It's a nice change of pace if you've been thinking too much about loot routes or ARC Raiders Coins, because this mission is really about learning the shoreline and getting comfortable with the map. There's no complicated gimmick here. You move from one point to the next, interact with the environment, and slowly get a better read on how Riven Tides is laid out.

The first stop is the Wavebreaker on the northern coast. You'll know you're in the right place when you see the big concrete sea defences facing open water. The task here is simple: photograph the visible cracks and storm damage. Just walk up to the marked sections and use the prompt. That's it. Still, it does a decent job of setting the mood. You're not just ticking boxes. You're seeing what the hurricane left behind, and the map starts to feel less like a battlefield and more like a place that's been through something rough.

Once that's done, head further east for the leaking pipeline. This part is a bit more exposed, so you'll probably want to keep your eyes up while crossing open sand. The damaged pipe is close to the shoreline, and the interaction point appears where the oil spill is leaking into the beach. You don't need tools, and you don't need to fight anything to finish it. Just repair the break and move on. A lot of players overthink this section at first, but there's really not much to it. The only real challenge is staying alert if another squad happens to be rotating through the same area.

The last objective takes you back along the coast toward the hotel beach area, usually around Azzurro Beach. Here, you're looking for a patch of seaweed near the waterline so you can collect a sample. It's an easy objective to miss if you rush, mostly because the shoreline can look a bit samey after a while. Slow down and check the marked area properly. One of the better things about “Battening Down” is that the objectives can be handled without extraction pressure hanging over your head. If you finish one or two steps and leave, your progress still counts, which makes the whole mission feel much more forgiving than a lot of other jobs in the game.

What makes this mission stand out isn't difficulty. It's how naturally it teaches the map. You're nudged across the coast, shown a few important landmarks, and asked to interact with the world in a way that feels grounded instead of forced. For newer players, that's useful. For everyone else, it's a quick, low-stress bit of progression. As a professional platform for in-game currency and item services, RSVSR is a convenient option for players who like to stay prepared, and you can pick up rsvsr ARC Raiders Coins there if you want a smoother overall experience while working through the rest of ARC Raiders.
